Volume delivers software tools and user experiences that increase protocol token utility and community engagement, measured by protocol transaction volume growth. The Volume team’s interests are the protocol interests: Growth of user transactions.

Volume successfully launched Sommelier’s first iteration as PeggyJV, bringing the Cosmos Ethereum bridge to market and resulted in Sommelier raising a total $25MM in funding to launch the first automated DeFi blockchain to manage Liquidity Provider capital on Ethereum via the Cosmos. Sommelier consists of the Cosmos Stargate SDK, its Tendermint-based consensus layer, and a decentralized, bi-directional Ethereum bridge, managed by a global network of validators. Liquidity Providers (LPs) will be able to use Sommelier to author and execute complex, automated financial transactions, such as portfolio rebalancing, limit orders, as well as a host of other features that token holders have come to expect from centralized finance (CeFi), but that are not currently available in DeFi.

Our investors include Polychain Capital, Alameda Ventures, Standard Crypto, and Multicoin.

As our Head of Marketing, you will have the opportunity to work across the company to lead our ongoing marketing strategy development. This is a high-visibility role with the potential to significantly impact our organization. We are constantly assessing the competitive landscape and our customers’ needs to identify new opportunities to service our customers better.

Our software empowers Sommelier validators to secure the Sommelier network which offers financial automation globally. As an early employee, you will be a critical part of our core team and have a significant influence over the direction of the company.

Skills:

Job Requirements

  • 8-12+ years experience in marketing, with some experience in the financial services or cryptocurrency industries
  • Experience touching the following areas of marketing: growth marketing, demand generation, digital marketing, event marketing, and content marketing
  • Corporate strategy experience preferred
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence all levels of organizational leadership
  • MBA or other advanced degree equivalent preferred
  • Highly collaborative with demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams
  • Strong business acumen and outstanding strategic problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated experience in B2B marketing

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage annual and ongoing marketing strategy and planning activities
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to design and implement management reports and dashboards
  • Make budget allocation recommendations for annual and ongoing allocation of marketing investments
  • Help build out and create our Marketing organization to include event marketing, content marketing, as well as developer relations
  • Lead Event Marketing teams to drive increased awareness of protocol functionality and features
  • Provide vision, strategy, and leadership for strengthening strategy, planning, and operational processes
  • Build marketing impact model that links causal actions of marketing spend to protocol transaction volume growth
  • Streamline marketing operations activities to increase automation and community engagement
